WHITE PINE ARTWORKS

“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks” – John Muir

What is better than tromping through the forest, hiking over fallen logs and boulders the size of cars?

There was nothing more exciting to us as kids while visiting our grandparents in remote northern Minnesota!

Every season brought new adventures to be had.

In fall, we marveled at the vibrant palette of leaves blanketing the forest floor. In our thick snowsuits, we traversed the snowy land on snowmobiles in winter; And our summers was filled with days fishing on the boat perfecting our casts.

As we grew older, we each branched out into a variety of hobbies and interests.

Kenna, the oldest sister, sought education in marketing to better enable people to access products that would enrich their lives.

Abby, the middle sister, dove head first into further studying and protecting the natural world, so everyone could enjoy its wonders.

Alaina, the youngest of the sisters, practiced day in and day out on her artwork depicting the things she loved most: the many creatures and sights she encountered in the outdoors.

While we traversed different routes and explored new interests, we were all heading in the same direction

Sharing and expressing our passion for the outdoors TOGETHER!

We three sisters have discovered not only a lifelong love for nature but also a passion for expressing ourselves and our experiences in nature through art.

It was this drive that inspired our company

MORE ABOUT US

THE THREE SISTERS

  • Abby

The middle sibling of the three sisters, Abby has always enjoyed the outdoors. With her childhood dog, Max, by her side, she spent most of her childhood exploring the wooded acres on the family’s homestead and trying to catch the many frogs that resided in the nearby bog. Abby began to document her encounters with nature when she was just 12 years old. She began to photograph, draw, and write about the birds, plants, fish, animals, and wonder about the natural world that she found outdoors. To conserve the environment which has become so entwined with her sense of self, Abby has committed herself to a career in natural resources management. In 2023, she earned a bachelor's in Environment from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Abby is currently working seasonally with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in the Northern part of the state to enhance aquatic plant and fish communities across the state. She hopes to one day become an Aquatic Ecologist to ensure everyone can also have an opportunity to enjoy unparalleled experiences in the outdoors.

  • Alaina

Alaina is the youngest of the three sisters and has always loved to explore and expand her amazing artistic capabilities. With her sisters and family pup always by her side, she discovered her love of nature while fishing for Northern Pike and Bluegill on Minnesota’s lakes and exploring the woods of her family’s property. One of Alaina’s favorite childhood memories is sitting beside her grandmother at the dining room table, learning how to paint the flora and fauna she experienced outdoors every day. Alaina has pushed herself to experience and master many different forms of artistic media including, but certainly not limited to: acrylic, watercolor, multimedia, and linocut stamp work. At White Pine Artworks, Alaina has combined her love for the outdoors with her passion for art to create the unique pieces she makes today. Alaina hopes her artwork will inspire others to enjoy the natural world and explore their artistic gifts as well.

  • Mackenna

Mackenna is the oldest of the three sisters. Growing up in the Northwoods of Minnesota has fueled her love for the outdoors. She was raised with a fishing pole in hand, and alongside her sisters and parents, has been able to experience many of the great lakes, rivers, and nature areas that Minnesota and the Midwest have to offer. Long walks in the woods, or days spent on the lake are her favorites. Mackenna spent her college years in California obtaining a degree in Marketing and Sport Administration. She currently resides in Chicago and works for the Chicago Blackhawks. Visiting Minnesota and her family is always a priority. Her sisters’ appreciation and growing interest in the making of art encompassing the amazing aspects of the outdoors continue to inspire Mackenna every day. In relation to White Pine Artworks, she assists with the business and marketing side of the company and wants to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn more about the beauty and amazement that nature has to offer.
